Prof. dr. J.J. (Jeroen) Bax is cardioloog en heeft als aandachtsgebied cardiale beeldvorming en echocardiografie.
In 1996 promoveerde hij op het onderwerp "metabolic imaging with FDG SPECT".
In 2002 rondde hij de opleiding tot cardioloog af. De opleiding volgde hij in het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum, waar hij werkzaam is als algemeen cardioloog met als aandachtsgebied cardiale beeldvorming.
