Drs. F.M. Rijnberg

Drs. F.M. (Friso) Rijnberg is sinds 2021 in opleiding tot cardiothoracaal chirurg in het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum.

Gedurende de geneeskunde opleiding heeft hij onderzoek gedaan naar tracheachirurgie bij kinderen aan het gerenommeerde Great Ormond Street Hospital in Londen. De afgelopen jaren heeft hij zijn promotieonderzoek verricht naar de lange-termijn uitkomsten van kinderen geboren met een eenkamer hart die een Fontan operatie hebben ondergaan. Binnen dit onderzoek heeft hij gebruik gemaakt van geavanceerde beeldvorming zoals 4D flow MRI en computational fluid dynamic modelling ter evaluatie van de bloedstroming efficiëntie in de Fontan circulatie.
