Percutaneous closure has emerged as an alternative to surgery in patients with unacceptable surgical risk. In this case, transthoracic echocardiography allowed optimal characterization of the defect and successful procedure guidance, avoiding risks derived from more invasive intraprocedural imaging techniques.
